 ducational Opportunities
Kishwaukee Community Hospital supports those interested in pursuing educational opportunities in healthcare careers in a variety of ways.
Nursing Student Sponsorship Program allows students entering their nursing classes in a two year associate's degree nursing program to apply for sponsorship. For selected students, this program reimburses tuition, fees, books and other required expenses for completion of the registered nurse educational program. During the sponsorship the student works in a support role within the hospital. Following receipt of their RN licensure, sponsorship recipients complete a minimum two-year commitment as an RN at KCH.
On-the-job training is offered as needed for a limited number of clinical support positions. See the Job Postings in the Employment section for details on position requirements.
KCH is a clinical education site for many schools offering programs in the healthcareers, including nursing, nursing assistant, radiology technology, physical therapy, pharmacy and more. Check with your educational institution to determine if a clinical site at KCH is available for you once enrolled in their program.
Our Emergency Medical Services Department offers many continuing education classes in CPR, ACLS, PALS and more.
Employees of KCH enjoy many educational benefits including an excellent orientation program, tuition reimbursement, computer-based learning, an active Resource Center with professional journals and other resources, as well as ongoing continuing education programs throughout the hospital.
