Poorten Earns Fellow Status

Kevin PoortenKevin Poorten, FACHE, President and CEO, KishHealth System, recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the nation's leading professional society for healthcare leaders.

To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional/community involvement. Fellows are also committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recodification every three years.

Poorten, of Sycamore, has been at the helm of KishHealth System since 2002, following 19 years with health systems in Arizona and Tennessee. He is an Illinois Hospital Association board member and president-elect of IHA Region 1A. He is vice president of the DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation Board, a member of the Sycamore Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and chair of the Community Cares Clinic Board.

He has a master’s degree in health services administration from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marquette University.

The American College of Healthcare Executives is an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives who lead our nation's hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations.
